Welcome to Seymour Baker Band

At the core of the band are Mark Seymour on acoustic or electric guitar and vocals and Rex Baker on bass guitar and backing vocals.


Their organic sound combines a blend of intricate instrumental interplay and silky smooth vocal harmonies that  a provides a new interpretation of songs from the last 60 years.


An accomplished songwriter, Mark’s original songs are sprinkled liberally throughout their set lists.


The Seymour Baker Band augments their sound with percussion and vocal harmonies provided by Jon Graham, and keyboards and vocal harmonies by Eric Lawrence.



From time to time Haley Michelle sings with the band and plays keyboards.


Together these experienced musicians explore a wide mix of music styles including Folk, Blues, Americana, Rock, Country and Gospel.  Seymour Baker Band weaves an intimate ambiance of fine music for your dinner party and fine restaurants; but they can turn it up so you can dance all night long.


They perform Seymour’s original music and cover artists including James Taylor, Tom Petty, Paul Simon, and Delbert McClinton.

Seymour Baker Bands's Bio's

Jon Graham Drums
Drummer Jon Graham native to Portland Oregon has been drumming over 40 years for Rock, Blues, Jazz and Worship bands.

Playing for as many as 25,000 listeners at The Waterfront Blues Festival, Jon prefers more intimate venues.   Connecting with the audience is very important to him.

​ Adding his special tasteful rhythms and vocal harmonies brings Jon and his audience great joy.

Singer songwriter Mark Seymour welcomes you into the living room with his silky-smooth vocals, unique finger-style guitar, and intimately inclusive audience interaction.

An accomplished songwriter, Mark also covers many styles of music spanning multiple decades, performing his own interpretation of familiar music from show tunes to country, to rock and folk, to rhythm and blues.

Mark has traveled the world performing solo shows and working with all kinds of musicians.  After settling in the Pacific North West, he continues to make music at state and county fairs, festivals, private events, and many local venues.

Mark said, “I’m always looking to find good people to make fine music with.  I plan to keep playing that ‘Fine Music for your Listening Pleasure’ for many years to come.”
Rex Baker
Rex Baker has been involved in the Portland music scene since the late 70s.

As a design engineer for Sunn and Fender, Rex designed sound equipment, and traveled the country testing new equipment designs with the top bands of the era including Queen, Jethro Tull, Yes, Rush and The Who.

Rex also toured the Pacific Northwest with several bands, beginning in the 70s with “The Rocking Relics”.  They opened for many national acts including the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, and Paul Revere and the Raiders. ​

During the 80s and 90s Rex continued engineering work with Mackie, Seymour Duncan, Dean Markley and JBL.  He also started touring the Pacific NW with “The City Kids Band” and they found steady work as the “house band” aboard the Columbia Gorge Stern wheeler.

In 2005 and 2006, Rex toured with the show band “The Big Picture” performing in the Pacific NW, Palm Springs and Las Vegas.
